Example: many node runners start out frantically rebalancing channels when they go slightly askew. But I haven't manually rebalanced a channel in over 2 years now, I just adjust the channel fees up when the balance on a channel goes too far to the "remote" side and down when it goes too far "local". There are even scripts like charge-LND that can help you automate the fee adjustments: https://github.com/accumulator/charge-lnd
Rebalancing costs money and also unbalances the channels of your peers, so the fee policy + waiting is a far better strategy than manual circular rebalances in my experience.
Another great liquidity solution is to open channels in a group with a Ring of Fire. If you're ever looking for new channels and want to participate in a Ring of Fire let me know! It's a channel opening strategy that nets you 2 perfectly balanced channels for the price of opening just one.
Awesome resources. Itāll be first on my list for a Ring of Fire, nostr:npub1yvscx9vrmpcmwcmydrm8lauqdpngum4ne8xmkgc2d4rcaxrx7tkswdwzdu !
Cool, yeah if you let me know what size of channel you are looking to open I can organize a ring. We're currently deploying our 22nd ring of fire and over the past couple years our rings of fire have deployed over 2.5 Bitcoin to the lightning network. I'm always happy to help with questions or troubleshooting when I can š«”
