Situational Awareness: Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is currently experiencing a strike which has ended public school services for 600,000+ students. The district is the second largest in the U.S. and the strike will occur for 3 days. Teachers are on strike after agreements failed to be reached to address the teachers' calls for "equitable wage increases, more full-time work, respectful treatment, and increased staffing levels for improved student services." Grab-and-go lunches have been organized at local parks and supervision is being provided for students who rely on public school food and childcare.
