I use Framer a lot because it’s fast, flexible, and fun to build with.
But it’s closed source 😢
So I’ve been finding ways to bring more open source aspects into the mix.
Discussion
So far I’ve had luck with:
• Framer packages on GitHub
• Plausible / Umami for analytics (alternative to Google analytics)
• Framer Motion (open-source animation lib)
• Chart.js for data viz (big for bitcoin data projects)
• Strapi / Directus for dynamic content
• Formspree / Netlify Forms (open-ish 😅)
If any other Framer designs know of any other open source stuff, lmk! I’m on the hunt.
