i appreciate emojis. their original intent was to differentiate or reinforce context and the american dopey use of them has completely fucked up what they were designed to do: provide context. now, even emojis are symbolic and their usefulness is diminished. using old-school punctuation was a means to differentiate from that and ai - which now even ai uses too. see my "joke bot" interaction.

but: i think americans need an education about emoji use and why the japanese began the use of them in the first place.
