What is normal behavior for an S9 running braiins?

I'm asking because mine keeps cutting off. I'm not sure how to diagnose the issue.

Any clues on the dashboard? Last time I had a cutting off issue, it was due to temperature. I saw it gradually rise to around 105 degrees before restarting and repeating.

Nope. It settles in about 90*C. Then just stops hashing.

Is the temperature reading supposed to stop reading when the hashing stops? That's what happens.

It also doesn't restart hashing automatically. I have to click to restart BOSminer and sometimes it just won't.

Sorry, haven’t experienced this one.

FWIW, whenever the restart occurred, all the readings blank out and are populated again once the startup process is done.

OK. That's good to know that's normal, except if you mean all the readings, do you also mean that the hash rate also blanks? Cuz it shows that, just not the temperature.

Oh, hashrate blanks too before starting at 0 and increasing again.

So if your hash rate is still being displayed but the temp is missing altogether, what are your fan readings? Should be constantly around 1500-1600 RPM right?

I’ve had a fan issue in the past that also affected temp readings. Was able to fix it by setting them to manual mode at 100% all the time.

The fans ramp up and down to hold the temps at 90* which works out to shoot 650W.

Might be worth trying manual mode for the fans. Sometimes auto doesn’t work and causes issues with temp sensing. Other than that, I don’t think I’ve got anything else. Good luck.

I will try that. Thank you!

-Ambient temperature can be an issue

- If it kicks off, it could be your PDU if you are using one.

- I've had to take apart to clean components and check fans. This has been successful both times.

Ambient is between 62-75*F.

I'm using the PDU that came with the miner.

This came clean and all boards are functioning normally as far as I can tell.

Does the miner kick off or just stop hashing?

Stops hashing.

Not sure the reason. I have to reset the power once or twice a week with the same issue.

This does it every time and doesn't start on its own, ever.

For me, unstable wifi connection

This is wired to a router which is wired to the main router. So, I'm not sure if that's the issue.
