No. It's exactly what I wanted. Thank you, for taking the time to share and explain.

I am still unsure how turning off phone portion helps you flush out services that use it. Can you lead me through the process step by step and how I can implement it?

I'd like to to change my phone number of about 20 years now as it appears like it's been compromised. The sucky part is and why I didn't want to lose this number and I had parked it for half a year while abroad because I was having trouble accessing services without text confirmation etc.

I'd like to take a slow meticulous approach to re-securing everything and implementing 2FA and whatever MFA other than sms. Or maybe I need a second number for a period to switch everything over to and then kill this one.

Does this makes sense and why I am interested in your sharing? Any additional thoughts?

Ok, let's get started 😉

What phone provider do you have?

I think you are semi-stuck with at least one phone number in North America at least.

Tmobile you can reduce your service down to $20 phone + text if you call in or go into the store.

Let's start there.
