weird spyware? or what could it be?

when i initially reinstalled nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 , it was taking only 114 MB of storage on my iphone.
just a tiny bit later in the day, it has climbed to 1.58 GB.
The iphone storage it is using just ~keeps growing~❕

now just a few minutes later, damus is taking 1.75 GB of storage
i turned my phone completely off and now damus is using
1.78 GB
