:) incandescent bulbs are not inefficient. :) they were designed for built in obselescence. i've seen the original 1890s edison bulbs.. still burning brightly in the 90s, some of them were never turned off.....

as far as "waste heat" there is no such thing, electrical energy is turned into heat. candle energy is turned into heat. heat is adsorbed into the environment, and goes away. it doesn't cause accumulative "global warming" that's a simple minds take on it, and unfortunately most people don't think, so they buy into the global warming thing out of fear of "omz! the ice caps are going to melt and we'll all drown." meanwhile, water levels worldwide have not changed an iota in that respect. there are photos out there to prove it.

as far as CA pushing electric heating, thats all about crippling people. natural gas is a lot harder to "meter" than electricity, and this goes in line with their 15 minute cities eat bugs and live in a pod with a smart meter nanny situation. they want everyone at their whim and whimsy, and it's stupid.
