Nostr’s superpower is not censorship resistance - that’s a benefit.

The real superpowers are:

1. Network effects

2. Supercharged distribution across multiple clients

3. Zaps

Just my 2 sats.

When I told my Twitter friends about Nostr, all they saw is a wimpy Twitter clone that doesn’t compare at all. They didn’t know about zaps; didn’t realize it’s cross platform and cross client; and that literally anyone in the world can build on it and instantly tap into the network, making it as powerful as internet itself.

I make sure to point out to new folks, after I walk them through setting up Nostr and WoS, that no where in the process did they:

- put an email address

- give an idea

- ask permission from some company (although I guess technically they did agree to damus and WoS terms of service)

Remember when email first came out? I created my first email in 1997. Today there is a huge industrial built entirely for email. Clients, software, servers, powering most businesses. Nostr will be like email, but ten times better so it’s going to be adopted 10 times faster. Nostr is like SMTP on steroids.

I went to mastodon a few times after ban, but it was never the same. But Nostr is a game changer, primarily because its far superior in multiple dimensions than any platform.
