Never heard of syntropic agroforestry but it makes a lot of sense. Anyone familiar or have more information on the concept?

Is this like hugulculture-?
From my narrow understanding, it's a way to choose plants to maximize photosynthesis and yeild over periods of succession in the system. Designing for anticipated change while filling niches symbiotically. I'm sure the hugel culture technique could be used when applying the concept.
