Seeing a lot of "if it doesn't affect you, why do you care?" talk around #pridemonth.

Things that don't affect me (not cemprehensive):

1. Child rape

2. Uyghers in Chinese concentration camps

3. Sex slavery

4. African genocide

But, I care about them and we should be talking about them.

I want to give people the benefit of the doubt, and think that they are probably feeling defensive. But, the tactic they're using is designed to shut down open discussion.

Nothing is beyond criticism. If you're telling people they shouldn't have an opinion on something, you need to take a hard look at your biases and goals.

If we didn't enjoy discussion, we wouldn't be on social media.
