We brought our watermelon back from the supermarket and put it on the kitchen counter. Soon after, it started to foam. A Google search revealed that it needed to be taken out of the house immediately as it might explode from fermentation. We put it in a plastic trash bag and carefully lowered it into our trash can outside. This morning we noticed that the watermelon had exploded and made a hole in the bottom of the trash can. There were maggots everywhere. 😰🍉
