Physical assets and currency still have a place, and are even good when they aren’t controlled by governments. Going 100% digital for everything isn’t a good idea I don’t think.
Discussion
We need to live somewhere.
Physical assets are great in peace time, but seizable in war time.
Cost of attack / benefit of attack
You want the cost of attack to be much greater than the benefit of attack, or your property will soon be someone else's in bad times.
Correct but also digital assets have the reliance on power grids/internet connections and such. Which also in war time would be very spotty at best if not completely destroyed.
Yes and no.
Bitcoin transactions can be sent over radio to a place where they can be transmitted over the internet.
The ledger is stored all over the world. The chances of all of them being destroyed is low.
This is also assuming people have the skill to pull this off.
With the right group, it would be easy.
Also, internet was designed for a direct nuclear strike and survive. That's why routing protocols are "self healing"
Yes but internet connections require a functioning power grid to function. And radio can be jammed or intercepted. There are exceptions to everything and it would depend on the situation I guess. Also I want to make it clear that I’m not against digital assets obviously I use both #bitcoin and #monero I just think having all your assets digital is a bad move, the same can be said for all physical assets as well. The don’t put all your eggs in one basket mentality I suppose.
