I started out with a custodial BTC solution, Strike. It is nice because it has a lightning wallet built in but you can also withdraw to self custody (cold wallet). You can use strike wallet for zapping users or posts on nostr. You can also zap podcasters, musicians, or streamers on Fountain.fm, wavlake, or zap.stream, respectively.

BTC is fun to use! I have stopped making charitable donations and now I just buy bitcoin to support artists, musicians, memers, or developers through zaps. Just helping regular people out whose content I value. This is the #value4value model.
