Okay, here’s a thought…
#Bitcoin’s time chain is a terrestrial method of tracking blocks (and thus transactions) as they occur through time. With Blockstream’s satellite node, we’ve moved off the earth’s surface. Later, if we colonize the moon and mars, and have miners and nodes there, the time it takes for a transaction to be confirmed will be longer. I mean, yes, blocks will still be mined every 10mins, but 10mins according to where?
Hence, you may not consider your transaction to be “sufficiently buried” until it reaches, say, 20 blocks deep as opposed to 6, currently, just to be sure your Tx wasn’t part of a chain that got orphaned.
