Words like 'fractional reserve' started as a deregatory term, used to describe something fundamentally wrong and stupid. Over time, these words are picked up by frauds and chalartans who think it's a great idea and pushed them as marketing.

The same goes for words like Proof of Stake, Proof of Authority, Optimism etc.
