I fully agree that NIP-05 addresses are generally incapable of providing verification and are particularly useful for identity sharing. However, in a few cases I think that NIP-05 addresses do provide some kind of verification. This applies to well-known domains or domains of well-known companies. For example, I would consider the NIP-05 address "saylor@microstrategy.com" for Michael Saylor as a verification that it's really Michael Saylor and not someone else.

I also think that clients should refrain from displaying NIP-05 with a "check". Yet I don't think clients should stop showing it on a feed. For example, if I follow two accounts with the same name and a very similar or even the same profile picture. How do I know who is who? I could easily tell by looking at the NIP-05 address as it is unique and more memorable than npubs.
