The deletion option on Nostr is an illusion; relays can keep copies of your notes, or some relays can simply refuse to delete.
Overall, nothing truly gets deleted on nostr, but that's also true with traditional internet tho. People can simply screenshot or use some kind of archive site. 🤔
I'm less black and white about it now. nostr:npub1gvy07gxw6uu8rd57mz72mg4q2x7r5ptpp5gc832dv768e58hqd0q5nyn0t reminded me of a potential accidental image self dox. Thankfully I was able to get it removed from imgur for that.
Even if it is difficult, if not impossible to guarantee deletion across multiple relays - I'm okay with that illusion of deleting egregious typos and attempting to replace with a better version.
Also, I've heard a rumor that lots of dm's can slow/crash a client (Amethyst in particular), so deleting to remove them is also something I'm okay with just to improve client stability. This is definitely a practice I engage with because I occasionally self DM to check if my note renders correctly.
Again though, for me its not so black and white and I understand both sides.

This just helps me affirm my reluctance to post a selfie. Mock me all you want, but I can't help but find something invasive about it. If you're comfortable with it, that's fine. Your decision.
Any relays in particular that, maybe, we should avoid?
