Today was pretty crappy. Could have been way worse, but crappy nonetheless. Talking to my wife about a couple issues and she helped me out with some solutions. A good woman is worth their weight in gold. My wife has been a true blessing in my life. She helps keep me grounded. I thank God she was brought into my life

I've been trying to look into other eschatological beliefs. I don't know if it's just because it's been ingrained in me since I was a child, but the Pentecostal view of a literal translation of the Bible had always been comforting to me in a weird way.
My wife grew up pentacostal. I don't have a problem with most of their beliefs, but the speaking in tongues thing still makes me uneasy. Speaking in tongues is biblical, and I have no doubt it happens still today, but there are surely many people faking the gift.
Also being "slain in the spirit" is problematic to me as I see no biblical basis for it.
