A community is a collection of individuals who temporarily pursue shared interests, but a good community respects absolute individual autonomy, is defined by voluntary association, remains minimally invasive, and is held together solely by mutual benefit; close-knit bonds emerge through self-chosen, authentic interaction, while true individuality allows one to be as different or distant as desired and still remain part of the community only to the extent that it aligns with one’s own will.
