For digital life yes. AI is the natural next step in digital anything. Our digital lives are limited however to basically two I/O ports: light and sound.

Analog life still remains unchanged and uses a full continuinm of I/O.

Turns out, humans are becoming more like computers if we restrict our selves to the digital domain. Which in turn, makes AI easier to copy human digital behavior.

So I don't think there is any new loss or hand wringing over AI for me. That ship has sailed when we all decided to put screens in front of our faces.
