To me the problem is not the right but the lack of responsibility. Too many people treat guns without respect, pulling them out as a first resort, not a last resort, and not keeping them away from children. That’s how we end up with road rage shootings and kids finding them and accidentally firing them off at home. It’s a symptom of a diseased society that people allow this to happen.
Bingo. The over glamorization of guns (see movies, TV, songs, etc) has led to a large gap in the responsible ownership and use of firearms. I was raised to treat them with respect and to only use as a last resort for self defense. Couple that with 20+ years of military training in the use of, as well.
