GM 🌞 I’m teaching a lesson on YouTube about gentleness this week. (Part 8 of a series on the fruit of the spirit.) What I learned about gentleness is it is NOT softness. Gentleness is the ability to control one’s own force. So there’s something to chew on.

Good morning πŸ«‚

Thats a martial art principle right there. The ability to do grwat damge but also the wiadom to realise that and control it.

Very much the jordan Peterson "be a monster. And then learn to conteol it" quote. The point of old chivalry codes was to do this, to create a framework of control and give it focus and direction.

It's a much better message for young men, than trying to quash an inate behaviour imo...

Good luck with the video. πŸ‘πŸ»

So very funny that you bring up martial arts because I am going to be talking about Judo in the episode! πŸ₯‹πŸ’œ

Some things are universal πŸ˜‰

The fruit of the spirit is translated a little bit differently in various Bible translations. It's worth reading different ones to approximate the real meaning, because no translation is exact.

Yes! Every week I’ve been looking up the original Greek words that correspond to each fruit and there are usually 2-3 words with super interesting etymologies. I’m a word nerd for real
