Thats a martial art principle right there. The ability to do grwat damge but also the wiadom to realise that and control it.
Very much the jordan Peterson "be a monster. And then learn to conteol it" quote. The point of old chivalry codes was to do this, to create a framework of control and give it focus and direction.
It's a much better message for young men, than trying to quash an inate behaviour imo...

The fruit of the spirit is translated a little bit differently in various Bible translations. It's worth reading different ones to approximate the real meaning, because no translation is exact.
