Question for the more experienced miners:

I have an S9 with braiinsos mining. Is there any way to not have it stop hashing entirely if you reset the power target?

To further explain, I want to be able to dynamically control the power usage of the miner. Having it shut off and take time to ramp back up wastes significant time and would defeat the purpose of dynamically controlling the power usage.

As to why I'm wanting to do this, I want to be able to build feedback loops to control the power based on user definable metrics such as fluid temperature or available "excess" solar power once my storage battery bank is charged.

Wish I could help you with that Beave but I do want to point out that Braiins is part of the bitmain/antpool pool of pools that controls half the hashrate right now.

Yes, but I'm pointing my hash to ocean.

One become aware of how toxic the big, centralized pool is.

This is not true at all... Braiins is a pool on it's own... They have like 1% of the hash rate... This is where plebs should be mining.

Help me understand what this means in regards to braiins

They use the same template for constructing blocks. Possibly. Not confirmed. Brains actually offers different payout methods and was one of the first to support stratum V2. They also pioneered stratum in the first place. Brains makes miner firmware, so naturally a lot of other miners will use the same firmware. But brains pool as mentioned above only controls 1% of hash rate. Also, I'm of the opinion that mining centralization is not a problem at all. There will ALWAYS be 1-2 big pools. That's just how the incentives work. It takes 2 seconds to point your hash to another pool. It's a non issue and people should be more focused on dependencies in core than anything to do with miners. Just my 2 sats

You just saw the word any and conflated the two... Don't spread BS if you don't know what you're talking about...

Something like this?

hmmmm I also run S9s with BraiinsOS. I'm sure they're a way but I'd have to dig into the firmware and such. Perhaps ask the BraiinsOS community. I believe they have a telegram channel.
