I’m not knowledgeable enough to advise on species or edibility in this case, but getting a pic of the underside of the mushroom so you can see the gills/pores, and a pic of the mushroom sliced a little while ago and then freshly in kind of an X shape so bruising color / milk can be seen are usually needed for proper mushroom ID.
The fully mature growing on the exposed wood looks like “dryads saddle” or “pheasant back” to me. Grows on wood although sometimes unexposed wood… people say has a cucumber or watermelon smell. Gills or pores?
