Filters don't prevent valid transactions from being mined, therefore there's no point into forming a cult around doing so.
If it’s this controversial, why didn’t core just leave option there for the ppl that wanna continue filtering?

Why should software have a config option that doesn't do anything?
What was it doing for all those years before?
Because they realized it doesn't do anything because miners will mine any consensus valid txn
