Yeah, it's the Cantillon Effect. You and others knew the money flowed elsewhere so you moved closer to it to benefit yourself and loved ones.
Try not to negatively dwell on the past or what the future will bring, as that may have negative effects on your mental health and on others around you. I'm working on this myself. It's hard but worth it.
