The fediverse is getting its own TikTok competitor, Loops. Developed by Daniel Supernault, Loops allows users to share short, looping videos and will integrate with ActivityPub, the protocol that powers Mastodon, Pixelfed, and other federated apps. Loops promises not to sell user data or use AI models for content training, unlike some popular social media platforms.
