Since it's cold and flu season, here's a recipe to get you feeling right if you feel like you're starting to get sick:

Bring a pot or kettle of water to a full boil and then turn the heat down as low as it goes.

While you're waiting for the water to boil...

Slice up a whole large lemon. Thin slices. Do not remove the peel. Most of the ascorbic acid (vit C) is in the peel.

Slice up a piece of fresh ginger root about the size of your thumb. Thin slices.

Add the lemon, ginger, and about a tablespoon of whole cloves to the hot water.

Let it steep on the lowest heat for at least ten minutes.

Pour yourself a mug and add some raw honey.

Sip and enjoy. Tastes really good. Drink 2-3 cups.

You'll be feeling better soon.

Lemons: loaded with vitamin C. Also good for you heart, digestion, and kidneys.

Ginger: boosts immunity, foods upset stomach or gut, reduces aches and pain

Cloves: antioxidant, pain-killing, anti-bacterial and anti-viral
