Failure to load Start9 in a VM. Not sure how best to get past this

Have you gone to their telegram group. They are active and usually quick to respond. I’ve recently loaded Start9 in Promox VM without any issue like this. Post to the DIY channel for help.

Did you just try to upload the standard image file into the vm? I’m running myNodeBTC in a VM and I had to use a different file type and go through some different steps…

What’s the file extension for those? I’m running proxmox and they only take .iso files..
But myNode doesn’t offer one of those so I had to use the .ova file and follow this guide to upload it through the CLI

I am running it on a 6 core AMD Ryzen 5, 12 thread, 16GB RAM, M2 NVME gaming pc.

Negative. I saw there was some similar notes from someone in the Telegram group months ago. Ill spend more time on it tomorrow. If I cant get it going in a VM then theres it will be several months before i can get a bare metal machine.
I used an old IBM Thinkcentre m900, installed the 8.0 version on ProxMox, loaded updates, then created VM with the current .io file Start9. I don’t have any issues. Wonder what could be the issue. I saw you posted to the Telegram group, maybe you’ll get some help. I’ll find the info
On a few ProxmMox guys in that group and dm them to you
i think this is more of a hyper-v specific issue so ill try fiddling settings first. if that fails ill try virtualbox. otherwise i gotta save up to get another refurbished dell for it

for proxmox id need a separate machine, so thats the last option

Hey Dimi, been wondering about you my friend. I’m all good with my VM, I decided whatever is going on with my Node disconnecting and reconnecting is either just an internal anomaly or it’s not disconnecting long enough to disrupt my node activity. I’m not having any issues other than the notification gets annoying.
I had a Cloudflare tunnel working with my node as well, but it’s stopped and I haven’t had time to work on it yet.

It is Unifi router. I still have tunnel working to access ProxMox from outside. The only thing that broke was the access to my start9. So that makes me think update messed up the certificate. I’m getting a SSL handshake failed Error code 525
