Churches make up shit as much as anyone.
Like thinking water baptism is an absolute requirement to salvation 🙄
If that is the case I guess Jesus lied to the thief. Also someone would have to explain why Cornelius revived the Holy Spirit and then got baptized afterwards or why Paul said his ministry was not about baptism but preaching the gospel or why if it was a requirement it was never mentioned that the Apostles got baptized 🤔
Anyway point is, churches make crap up. Problem is we all call each other damnable because we don't agree on certain things.
There are damnable churches out there, CI (from what I have seen of it), much like baptismal absolution that Miles and Lutheran hold to are far less of a problem than the blatant witchcraft invading the church at large as well as RCC.
churches have invented new things. The Church has not.
