They are funny things. The first birthday present I bought my wife was one. But these days most new ones require a WiFi connection so they can roam around recording your house layout and what's in it for sale to advertisers and other stalkers.

Yah I have that concern but tbh people install wifi cameras everywhere and then complain about the roomba spying on them. Just got to pick your battles.

So true LOL. Our old one didn't do any of that, but it's passed on.

I'm thinking about building one of these - https://wolley.se/ - open source robot vacs for my wife for her upcoming birthday.

I'll have to report back on how it goes :)
