My dog doesn't lick anything unless given permission.

He'll even sit there 4" from the toddler's delicious juicy hamburger watching the toddler eat it and not try to get any. If a chunk hits the floor he knows it's fair game unless I glance at him and shake my head no.

That's impressive. I'm a softy with pets, and find that while they don't listen quite as well as a well trained pet, they remain pretty respectful and pleasant when I just let them do their thing

She's surprisingly good about begging. Just sits there patiently, nearby, often staring into your soul quietly.

Oh... that soul stare. 😂

I'm serious, dog. She'll fixate on your pupils for minutes at a time, slightly moving muscles around the eyes but never flinching. Hypno toad, I call it

I know, I know. My dog does the soul stare as well, especially when we're eating steaks.
