It's nuts that during the Volker years, savings rates kept pace with the base fed funds rate. Why is it banks can pay us so little to help them meeting capital reserve requorements, and we have to go into Money Markets and HYS accounts to get a fair price for our money?

You're at the wrong bank, then. I'm getting 3.75% at Ally.

Which is, like, a few cents per month difference, because why would I want to hold too much fiat. But, still.
