Most of the DMZ, shown here, was claimed by Ukrainian People’s Republic at the Paris Peace Conference (1919-1920). I remember old footage near Putin’s Palace where there were villages with ukrainian-speaking people. (could also be deported ones, but it is very unusual that near the actual Ukrainian territory)
