Integrating bitcoin and art allows us to do some serious science fiction type stuff. It's one of thenareas I'm most excited about.I won't buy Metallica albums anymore because they attacked the p2p community, but now we have humble musicians stacking sats. In my younger days, I thought p2p music would fix the industry, but it backfired. A purely peer-to-peer electronic cash system fixes this. That's what we were missing 30 years ago. Now I feel like we have a shot at increasing freedom for artists. Nostr fixes this by adding a social layer.
It flips the rockstar hierarchy model on it's head. The rockstars are not people in high places, they are your peers.
I've used p2p networks for over 30 years, but I've always felt like I was missing something. Now I know what that something is--Peers.
Nostr is a way to communicate with peers in a world of walled gardens built by social hierarchy. It's more powerful than I thought, now that I've seen it in action.
