what sharing are you using ? nfs or samba or something
At first I was using cifs but that didnt work so made an NFS drive instead

ext4 is best on linux but not sure ur sdcard or particular case - also FYI - within LAN only expanding DISK over nfss-share is not bad idea for chaindb n blocks folders data=/nfshare/ exmaple
ext4 is not great. Try zfs or btrfs.
