Some young (and not so young) men are nervous and awkward about this and never quite make the next leap to say "would you like to go out sometime?"*, or they're hilariously oblivious to any female interest. "Maybe she's just friendly" is what I've told myself for years.

*I'm in my late 30s and I've never actually done that.
