Just yesterday I posted a flowchart illustrating a data collection algorithm I’m building to quantify “social onboarding”.

It’s not finalized yet, but having access to historical follow lists would allow us to associate (relative) timestamps with new follows, allowing us to track when onboarding advocates follow new users.

Friends inviting friends (onboarding directly into webs of trust) is how decentralized social media on nostr will thrive despite the coming onslaught of bots and bad actors. I am building a client to support social onboarding and a rewards program to incentivize nostr advocates.
