Critics will ask “Why would you spend your bitcoin with zaps?” The answer is easy: because it’s money, and you found value in something you received from someone else who values that form of money while both participating in a network that enables the free flow and exchange of that money. Not to mention that if you are providing value in return, you will likely end up with more zaps ⚡️ than you send anyway.

Personally I set aside some spendable Bitcoin separate from cold storage (most people probably do this so I’m not special) and make stacking independent from lightning.
Now within lighting I have my “spend on cool things” and “fuck around” sats.
That was a long personal way of saying “Fuck the critics”

we’ve programmed ourselves to hoard satoshis like a squirrel stacks acorns into a den for the long, cold, lean winter
yet, positive action flows here
we give those precious sats because we reward value, and because it simply feels good
and others give to us
a true feedback loop of good
