Honestly I have been toying with the idea of training them on locally networked old school machines. So they can get the knowledge without the viral poz load.

Expose them to the same conditions which fostered the boom of innovation of the 80s-90s.

Ui and overarching design principles haven't change much so they will be able to translate their understanding to newer machines if necessary. If guided properly they won't be as interested in sinking into the new stuff beyond necessity. Especially if they have other, less faggoty interests
