alot of people hear what you say through the filter of what it would have meant if they said it, unaware they assume their view is global in scope.

Sheesh. Through the narrow lens of my own experience, projected onto this note, this is so deep and important to frequently reflect on. 😆
I work as a coach in a specific, niche field, and I am constantly reminded and humbled through conversation that I need to shut up a lot more, listen far more often than I do, and ask more clarifying questions to actually understand other people.
I notice it often here on nostr as well, with so many cultures coming together in one space. Its easy to assume someone will understand my note from my own perspective when someone reading may come from a totally different culture.
