I think nostr's other stuff may have a chance. Can't imagine a scenario where microblogging works. Unless something very dramatic happens to twitter. Like new owner.

I fucking hate microblogging. I was very hopeful for the reddit-likes but satellite seems well and truly abandoned and nostrudel isn't quite there.
I wonder if it is abandoned, the guy seems very vocal about stuff on nostr. But you may be right. Coracle also has groups. And apparently private groups are being further developed, as well as curated feeds.
I suppose something reddit-like would also need a larger and wider userbase, beyond bitcointwitter expats. It's a similar problem to the microblogging probelm, but also added that they want to use a message board lol.
Alex Gleason is also working on ditto, which will be aimed at a Communities format, apparently. Luckily he seems fairly outside of bitcointwitter spheres.
Suppose it's a matter of wait and see.
