Does it really have “more potential” though?

I feel like the moment Threads and Tumblr get around to federating (if that happens) it’s pretty much over. That’s the new paradigm. Blue Sky will have been a thoroughly wasted effort.

I meant more in a general sense rather than talking specifically about Bluesky.

It’s the reason Google still owns a monopoly, some better alternatives have come about but there’s no mass adoption.

It was a critique on people not wanting to adopt new things because old thing has specific thing they like, even if new things may someday also have that thing and already has other cool things too.

Threads is never going to federate, lol. I guarantee it still won't be federating with shit on the first anniversary of the service.

Well, they almost did, which is closer than anything Blue Sky will ever have, probably.
