The really scary prospect of AI is not general AI (not happening), but that it will be able to churn out addictive content. The internet is already an addictive place, imagine it with much more of the content that gets you hooked.
AI is not that good yet, but it's not that far from it, either.
AI is what puts me off the internet, I'm delighted to say. The more it spreads online, the shitter online gets.
