Every bitcoin storage method has tradeoffs.
My current favorite is bitcoin core + specter + coldcard.
Full setup costs about $150 if you already have a computer with at least 10GB storage.

What I like about this setup is it uses your own full node and has great coin control with labels. You can start with this setup and easily upgrade to multisig in the future.
