This is my bear case for AI.

The people in my life with zero purpose and experience no adversity, are also the most miserable. They create problems for themselves that don’t exist.

AI solves problems for an unprecedentedly low cost.

Folks are scared that AI will take their livelihood.

Folks really do believe that **they are the problem that AI will solve**

I wonder who gave them all that idea?

I agree that if AI plays out like we’re told, life will be incredibly easy.

I’m not saying it’s going to become terminator.

I’m saying that I’m not convinced that an easy life is a good thing. It’s pretty clear to me from my own experience the human condition requires a sense of accomplishment. Maybe AI frees us up for more meaningful pursuits, but who’s to say AI won’t tackle those as well?

If you ask the AI bros, it solves everything, which will completely strip humans of purpose.

Their subtle trick is that they can strip of you of your purpose just by claiming it will happen. If you think what you’re working on is solved in the future, there’s already no point in trying.

It's definitely self-fulfilling. All you need to do is ignore that narrative & keep solving problems as they evolve. AI makes things cheaper; it doesn't make things free.

The AI bros were the NFT bros who were the web3 bros who were the ICO bros who were the blockchain bros who were the (insert grift before this).

This is their new scam for VC money.

I wholeheartedly agree
