Writing definitely helps. But when it’s a topic you didn’t anticipate coming up… or just journal every thought preemptively? Cause then I’m going to be a very busy lady.

IDK, I usually just write down my first thoughts in the morning and then throughout the day if something worthwhile comes up I jot it down as well... it's no magic bullet but definitely helps organize/make sense of what's going on internally :)
