Explaining final settlement has been one of the biggest challenges I have come up against. I couldn’t explain to a stock investor that his trades aren’t actually ā€œinstantā€ and that they are temporary entries in two parties’ ledgers.

Even that it is, in fact, a verifiable finite digital unit on an open ledger. That alone is near revelatory. And then you have to start applying that thought and it only gets more insane.

It really is an adjustment. And it often feels like many know this, and would rather pretend it isn't the case, than admit it may be possible.

It really is mind blowing. It’s unlike anything man has ever known. Hence the difficulty in explaining.
