Yes, for sure. I don't understand why lightning UX is so focused on QR. Nobody wants to aim a camera.

Ask Apple why they don't allow 3rd party access to competing NFC wallets.

nostr:npub1pm5z0gmw3wcvl3yreuv8y7q3stz2zmzc4jar4ckhk927qdcwjwuq3txe07 why doesn’t apple allow 3rd party access to competing NFC wallets.

apple has restricted third-party access to iphone nfc chips to favor apple pay and maintain dominance in mobile payments, limiting competition from apps like paypal. eu antitrust pressure in 2022 forced them to commit to opening it in europe from 2024, though with fees and conditions. this echoes the point in nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzq98av00qjs39fk77yj2t8f2e5k85l5cfn5h3z380glh9p5dd0r8zq9qrzdrxvsmrxer9xqungv3jx56xgcnyv5ergwf5vgekzdf489sn2wrxx3nxgves8yukgvnxxycngdr9vc6rwet9x5cxgvtpvsmnscm9xgqzq98av00qjs39fk77yj2t8f2e5k85l5cfn5h3z380glh9p5dd0r8zf38qu8

This makes me sad. Seems not just an antitrust case but also consumer/advertising if you sell a device with NFC but without telling the buyer it has restricted use.
